Teaching Assistant / Lunchtime Supervisor - Required April 2019

TA - £16,302 pro rota / £8.45 per hr (Governors are planning to raise the hourly rate later in the year)

LSA - £ 16,302 pro rota / £8.45 per hr

6.25 hours per week

This is a casual contract, initially, for up to 6 weeks whilst the school reviews the needs of the children and then confirm the needs of the role of which they can apply. Once established after the review, the role will be advertised permanently of which any casual members of staff will be invited to apply.

The TA role will entail working for 3.25 hours each morning within a year group team. The role involves working dynamically as part of a team which supports the class teachers in their teaching role, works with groups of pupils to maximise learning, teaches interventions and provides 1:1 support for vulnerable pupils.

The LSA role entails working for 1.25 hours each lunchtime supervising pupils in the dining hall and playground. We expect our lunchtime staff to positively engage with pupils promoting healthy eating and to promote and initiate positive play.

Our ideal applicant will:

-      Be an experienced TA

-      Have experience of working in KS1 & KS2

-      Have strong English and Maths skills

-      Be willing to support & engage in all aspects of school life

-      Promote positive attitudes to learning and behavior and a commitment to supporting our Trauma Informed Schools ethos

-      Be comfortable and confident in working with children

-      Have an approachable manner

-      Be able to communicate with parents and carers effectively

-      Be able to work flexibly, proactively and supportively within a year group team.
