Vision for DT
‘I can do all things through Him who strengthens me’ (Philippians 4:13)
‘With fun and learning, hand in hand, all things are possible.’
"To eat is a necessity, but to eat intelligently is an art." - François de La Rochefoucauld
“People who say it can not be done should not interrupt those who are doing it.” – George Bernard Shaw
We believe that Design and Technology prepares children to take part in the development of tomorrow’s rapidly changing world. Creative thinking encourages children to make positive changes to their quality of life. The subject encourages children to become autonomous and creative problem-solvers, both as individuals and as part of a team. It enables them to identify needs and opportunities and to respond by developing ideas and eventually making products and systems.
We seek to
- foster enjoyment, satisfaction and purpose in designing and making.
· deliver the aims of the National Curriculum: co-operate, plan, design, make and evaluate.
· lead children into discovery, through practical learning opportunities where they can apply knowledge and skills from other subjects (including art, language, maths, science, computing) and learn to make their own decisions.
